Matthew Kelterborn loves food. Whether he is eating it, growing it, or cooking it, he loves all aspects of food and the many benefits that can be gained by having a good relationship with it. While growing up on a family farm in Mason, MI, he learned about the process of planting a seed and turning it into something fresh and healthy that can be shared with the community. It wasn’t until he left the farm to attend Michigan State University that he began to realize that his experience was unique among people his age. It was also about this time when he discovered the Organic Farmer Training Program at MSU. As he delved further into his studies at school, he became more aware of the disconnect between human beings and the food that they ate. This led to the decision to apply to the OFTP, where he feels like he will be able to learn the skills necessary to affect positive social change in the food industry. He is incredibly excited to join a group of like-minded individuals that will explore organic farming together. Outside of his obsession for food, Matthew plays all types of instruments (primarily in the folk/country genre), loves to read, travel, and go on all sorts of adventures with his gal pal.
